Weekly Improvisation Workshop
with Katherine Ferrier
SUDDEN SHIFTS

Movement Training for the Resistance

Emergent Improvisation is a potent laboratory for experiencing ourselves as powerful agents of change. This workshop offers practice in the skills we need to make work together that is both improvised and cohesive. Shared intention, spontaneity, focus, receptivity, and resilience are the fascia of many social justice movements, and serve as inspiration for movement scores designed to expand the range of choices we’re able to make in the moment. Each class balances solo investigations with whole-group awareness, activating the space so that transformational collective action can arise. Some previous movement experience is helpful, but all are welcome!
