Student Art Exhibition and Senior Shows

May 4-25
Reception: May 12, 5-8pm (Arts Night Out); Music Performed By Jaiden Meltzer '25

In this multifarious selection of artwork, students explore themes of place, objects, identity, self-expression, narrative, and humor.

The annual NHS Student Art Exhibition showcases the work of grade 9-12 students enrolled in 12+ art classes at Northampton High School taught by art educators Louise Martindell and Zoe Sasson. Curated by Louise Martindell and Zoe Sasson, the exhibition showcases a wide variety of 2D and 3D work including drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, mixed-media and ceramics, plus senior shows curated by students who have completed the Honors Art program.

This year’s NHS Student Art Exhibition and Senior Shows will correspond with 2 other art openings hosted by Northampton Public Schools. Also on May 12, JFK Middle School will host their student exhibition at Hosmer Gallery in Forbes Library, from 4-6pm. The 5th grade art students of NPS will exhibit at JFK Middle School, with an opening on Friday, May 19 from 4:30-6pm.

A.P.E.'s programming is made possible in part by sustained support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council and The Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.
