OF TWO MINDS
ZEA MAYS PRINTMAKING 11th BIENNIAL
OCT 9 - NOV 1, 2026
In most of our artistic activities there is an attempt to control and understand the work we are engaged in. Placing two works in relationship to each other can push this understanding into something new.
Juried by Peter Pettengill and Deborra Stewart-Pettengill“The criteria for jurying a show such as Of Two Minds is distinctly different from a regular group show of individual artists,” explain exhibition jurors Peter Pettengill and Deborra Stewart-Pettengill. “These entries, in most cases, started with a connection between two people. But the works, when presented together, have their own logic based on this connection. Longtime friendships, marriage, studiomates, study group mates, zoom acquaintances, each varied relationship has a different tenor.”
For each entry, at least one of the works was required to have a strong printmaking component, but members were welcome to pair with artists working in other media. The accepted works represent a wide range of printmaking techniques such as intaglio etching, woodcut and screen print, and also include works of sculpture, oil painting, photography, and even music and video animation.
